These little peaches slices are so delightful they bring a smile to my face every time I walk past them!
(Since my boys are too big now to play with felt food, I just added the the peaches to a pretty jar on my kitchen counter.)
This free felt peach pattern is a quick and easy hand sewing project, with some vibrant hand embroidery to bring it to life!
What Can You do With Felt Peach Slices?
If you’ve got a tiny chef in your house, working hard in a play kitchen, I’m sure they’ll come up with a ton of creative ways to serve up these peach slices! Perhaps in a bowl of ‘yogurt’, ‘ice cream’ or on top of a ‘cake’. They’d be beautiful in a fruit salad!
Other ways of using these felt peach slices include turning them into a summery garland, filling a clear canister with them as table decor, enlarging the pattern and making a plushie or a pillow. Or shrink the pattern down and make earrings! Let your creativity take the reins and don’t limit yourself.

Ok, enough with the heavy. Let’s get crafting!
Gather Materials
Here’s what you’ll need to make some adorable felt peach slices:
Printed Pattern (Find it at the end of the post.)
Felt for fruit flesh 3″ x 3″ – peachy or apricot shades
Felt for peel 1″ x 4″ – coral and/or pinkish red shades
Matching threads
Stuffing – Wool roving or Polyfil
Tweezers
Pins & Needle
Fabric Scissors
Water based Pen like Tombow in a raspberry colour (Optional)
Makeup Sponge or Cotton Swab (Optional)
My favourite shops for purchasing felt are Benzie Design for wool blend felt, and The Felt Pod for 100% wool felt.
The felt colours I used are Apricot and Papaya from The Felt Pod and Strawberry from Benzie Design.
To be honest, I couldn’t decide which colour combinations I liked the best, so I just made a few of each! I liked both the Papaya and Strawberry as peach peel options. I stuck with the Apricot colour for the flesh.
How to Make a Felt Fruit Slice
Firstly, cut out two sides and one peel piece for each peach slice. Simply pin the paper pattern pieces to your felt and cut around them with fabric scissors.
Next, use one strand of coral coloured embroidery thread and add some long and short straight stitching to the inner curve of the peach slice. Don’t go all the way to the edge of the felt and make your stitches and spacing irregular to create a more realistic effect.
On the second side of the slice, don’t forget to flip the piece over so you can join them ‘wrong’ sides together later.
Adding Some Detailing
This part is optional of course, but I think adding this colour detailing really gives some depth and life to the fruit pieces!
Please note: If these peach slices are likely to be chewed on by a child, make sure you use a non-toxic colouring product. Or omit the colouring altogether.
I got this beautiful raspberry coloured Tombow dual ended marker at my local craft store for a few dollars. When you’re shopping for something similar, look for a brush tip in order to create this same effect.
Use a very light hand (you can always layer more colour on top later) and gently brush some colour along the outer edge of the peach slice.
Next, use a makeup sponge, a cotton swab, a paint brush or even a scrap piece of felt to dab at the colour and gently blend it upward. You can experiment with using a damp sponge as well.
This method of adding colour to your felt will require some practice and experimentation. And you may want to adjust your approach depending on what type of marker you are using. This is the fun part of working with felt, you can really stretch your creativity and achieve a unique outcome!
Hand Sewing a Free Peach Slice
Now use a single strand of thread that matches the peach colour (not the peel colour) and a tiny blanket stitch to join the peel to the flesh. Position the peel between the two marks indicated on the paper pattern. It doesn’t go all the way to tips of the slice.
Once you’ve fully joined one side of the peach, pin the other side in place to make sure everything is lined up correctly. Then continue stitching around the outer curve of the slice, joining it to the peel.
When you get to the end of the peel, you can simply continue stitching across the top of the peach slice. Once you’re about halfway across the top, stop and begin gently stuffing the peach with polyfil using tweezers.
Continue sewing across the peach and stuffing as you go. Secure your thread very well.
Now you’ll finish the embroidery with a single strand of dark raspberry or coral and a whip stitch. Create some long and short stitches that fill in the gaps from the first layer of stitching.
Don’t pull your stitches too tightly or they’ll mis-shape the peach. Just pull them gently and snugly.
Imperfection is your friend in this step. It’s the key to creating a realistic looking peach!
That’s it, you’re done!
