I try to have an element of greenery in every room of my house. But since I can’t keep a plant alive to save my life, all the plants in my home are fake or crafted. If you also love plants and crafting, then this is the post for you! I’ve found 15 beautiful plant embroidery kits that are beginner friendly!

Let me tell you a story. When I started the search for plant embroidery kits for this post, I noticed that a lot of shops were carrying the exact same designs. It took me a minute to catch on to exactly what I was seeing because sometimes the photos were slightly different, but the patterns were in fact the same. Then I went over to Amazon and started seeing the same kits over there too.
Now here’s the thing. There’s nothing wrong with ordering something off Amazon. There’s nothing wrong with ordering stuff that is mass-produced and comes from overseas. I’ve done it. We’ve all done it. And I expect it on Amazon.
But to be frank, I get a little annoyed when I see those products on Etsy. Because they can fool people into believing they are supporting an independent artist when in fact the item has been mass produced in a factory.
So I did a lot of research for this post. I sifted through hundreds of shops. Because I want to highlight and support independent designers who pour their heart and soul into their creations and who work so hard to provide a quality product and an excellent customer experience.
These 15 plant embroidery kits are the best of the best that I could find on Etsy. Nothing mass-produced and sold in dozens of other shops. Just individual artists sharing their talents with us. I hope you find a kit in this list that you love!

Plant Embroidery
Plant embroidery is any hand stitching design that incorporates greenery, leaves, vines, cacti, house plants or other flora elements. Typically it doesn’t have much, if any, flowers in the design. You can expect neutral, earthy colour schemes with lots of green!
Typically, an embroidery kit will include a hoop, threads, fabric and pattern and sometimes needles. But of course that can vary from shop to shop. So make sure you read all the descriptions properly so you know what you’ll be getting!
Also, I consider most of these patterns to be beginner-friendly. But it never hurts to practice on scrap fabric if you are doubtful of your stitching skills. ๐
If you need some guidance on the easiest way to embroider a plant, there are a couple of stitches that seem to repeat through most of these patterns. The satin stitch and back stitch. So here are images of how to do those stitches from my own stitch guide that I think will be helpful.
And stay tuned for a beginners guide to hand-embroidery post, with the rest of the stitch guide and a sampler pattern that I intend to write soon!
