Deciding what to send to school for Valentine’s Day can be tough. Personally I try to strike a balance of cost-effective and not too time consuming while also making it fun for my boys. They get so excited about sharing things with their friends! So I rounded up some of the best non candy Valentines ideas I could find that are free to print at home!

I’m a sucker for a good pun. I can’t help it, I snort with laughter when I come across a new pun! So these punny Valentines cards are my jam!
These free printable Valentines are appropriate for school and the classroom since they are sugar free. Different schools might have different guidelines about candy so I think it’s safest just to steer clear.
Several of these do involve snacks, like popcorn, but nothing sugary. I would rather my kids didn’t come home with 20 heart shaped red dye lollipops, so it makes me more aware of what I’m sending to other kids’ homes. Non candy Valentines are the way to go for us!
Most of the elements for these cards can either be found at the grocery store or inexpensively on Amazon, so there’s no need to add any extra shopping destinations to your weekly errands.
I know Covid is complicating even the most innocent traditions like kids exchanging Valentines cards. I just found out today that my oldest won’t be allowed to bring valentines to school whereas my nephew’s preschool is requesting valentines be sent 2 weeks early so they can self-isolate in the closet.
I wanted to write this post anyway because it’ll be a great resource of clever Valentines ideas for years to come. I’ll just have to wait til next year to use some of these epic puns!
